Why does a Prism produce a rainbow when white light passes through it?

science test

Light slows down when it enters glass. The different frequencies slow down by slightly different amounts. Blue and violet slow down most while red slows down the least.
When a beam of light strikes a piece of glass at some angle other than perpendicular , the slowing down will cause the light to change direction ( bend) . The red will not bend as much as the blue, which results in the different frequencies separating and so we get rainbows becoming obvious.

What is the difference between a yellow and blue ethernet cable?

I have just setup a LAN on my PC using a netgear router. The connects to pc using a blue ethernet cable. I now want to link my Laptop to the router. I have a yellow ethernet cable which came with an old wireless router.

The router i am using is WIRED. Will it make a difference if i connect my laptop to the WIRED router using a yellow ethernet cable instead of a blue one?

There's usually no difference, people just make the insulation in different colours. Sometimes there will be significance, like yellow for crossover and pale blue for rollover (Cisco style), I've also seen blue used for straight-through.

Use either. Even if it doesn't work, it won't damage anything.

I have a ps3 and the light will flash red or light up yellow. What does this mean and what can i do?

My ps3 will turn on for about 5 seconds and then freeze and then the light will flash red. I know that this is a sign for overheating but could it be more? I unplugged it and let it sit for 1 day and let it cool down but that did nothing. I tried to retry it and it still did not work. What else can the blinking red light or yellow light mean and what can i do to solve it?

you have the Yellow Light of Death. it is sadly broken. it happens on the older models because they consume soooo much power. if you still have all of your original seals intact on the system, call sony customer service at 1-800-345-7669. DO NOT TRY TO FIX IT YOURSELF, because if you fail, sony will not fix it, or send you a new one, and you will have to buy a new ps3 altogether. you will probably be sent a new ps3 slim for around $150. it's actually a pretty good deal if you ask me, considering that the old ps3s are out of warranty. but if you are within warranty, and you still have your original receipt, you will be eligible for warranty exchange, and i'm pretty sure you don't have to pay a dime. unfortunately tho, you will not be able to recover your save files, unless you backed them up somewhere (which i highly recommend doing in case this happens again). try and look at it this way, it's like you get all your games brand new and you get to play them again like you just bought them lol. and it beats the xbox 360's infamous Red Ring of Death, which has plagued around 40-50% of the xbox 360s on the market. the new slim ps3 models don't really have this problem tho, because they consume much less power, and are more efficient. so basically, you will get a new 120 gb ps3 slim for half the price if you're out-of-warranty.

It's happened to me any along with many other xbox 360 owners...

...but is rather easy to fix.

You see, with all electronic components, things can get messed up rather quick when you have dust which penetrates the console and heat emanating from it from long hours of play.

10 Ways To Pick Up Women

If you catch her trading glances with you, that is your cue to get off your ass and approach. It's a clear sign that she finds you attractive and she wants you to approach her.

4. Approach her and introduce yourself. And by that, I mean properly. Just because the place is not formal, you should make an effort to introduce yourself in a striking and intelligent manner. Ask her casual questions, like if she's having fun but avoid buying her a drink! Only beta males buy drinks for women right off the bat.

5. Avoid cheesy and blunt pick-up lines. Using pick-up lines is probably the most widely used way to pick up a woman. A girl can smell a fake from a mile away. Opt for casual questions and ice breakers. Smile and make eye contact.

6. Be a good conversationalist. Talk to her in a way that she will find you interesting, funny and sincere. Inject humor, teasing, curiosity and seriousness in your conversation. Take advantage of this opportunity to get to know her better and learn a lot of new things as well.

7. Mind your manners. Everyone's attracted to a gentleman. Try to leave a good impression by being polite, interested and appropriate. If you ask her to dance, respect her decision if she declines. If she says yes, dance with grace and leave the body grinding for another time.

8. When things get more a little more serious and comfortable suggest a less quite place where you both can sit down and talk. The best way to pick up a woman, as they say, is to gain her trust and make her feel at ease with you.

9. Compliment her. The trick is not to be like everyone else. Don't compliment her beauty! Every other guy does that and she's heard it a million times. Find something unique and compliment her on that.

10. Remember that picking up women needs practice. It's a numbers game and there will always be a time where you will get rejected. Accept it and learn from your mistakes.

Any electrical basic mesaurement text book would say that for measuring 3-phase energy atleast you need two current coils and two potential coils. The voltage and the current of the three phases are to be monitored continuously, because you measure energy which is power x time. There is no short cut method to mesaure three phase energy with just one single phase energy meter. If you are so particular on single phase energy meters only, then you have to use three such meters - one per phase to measure three phase energy.
