why must the internal resistance of a voltmeter need to be high?

the internal resistance of a digital multimeter is quite high so why must the internal resistance of the voltmeter need to be high? and also what about the internal resistance of an ideal ammeter ?

Let's assume a test circuit with a 12V source and two 1kohm resistors connected in series. The voltage drop across each resistor is 6V.

The voltmeter is connected in parallel, so it behaves like a parallel resistor and steals current from the circuit. If the resistance of the voltmeter is high (as compared to the resistor being measured), then the circuit is not effected (1kohm parallel 10Mohm = 999.9 ohm). Voltage division gives 12V * 999.9ohm / (1kohm + 999.9ohm) = 5.9997V or 6V. No significant error.

But if the voltmeter resistance is close to the resistor being measured, the voltmeter changes the circuit (1kohm parallel 1kohm = 500ohm) and causes incorrect readings. Voltage division gives 12V * 500ohm / (1kohm + 500ohm) = 4V or a 33.3% error.

If you measure the other resistor, it also is 4V, so 4V + 4V = 8V and the power supply is 12V. It seems like Kirchhoff's Voltage Law does not apply!

The ammeter is connected in series and steals voltage from the circuit. Typically, this voltage is less than 0.1V and can be ignored in a circuit where we are measuring Volts.

Therefore the resistance of an ideal ammeter is 0ohms.

Why are electrolytic capacitors unipolar?

Also, feel free to direct me to some place where I can find out the answer for myself. I tried wikipedia, but they have any specific info on my question.

The dielectric is an integral anodic coating produced in situ on the electrode such as aluminum foil , tantalum foil or a porous sintered tantalum pellet by electrolysis, which is why the name. In the capacitor a tin film of the electrolyte remains in contact with the dielectric, which therefore becomes self repairing.
If the polarity is reversed the dielectric will disappear because it is now the cathode.

It is possible to make an AC electrolytic capacitor by having both electrodes to have the coating. This is not very effective and the main advantage of compactness of the electrolytic is compromised.
