how does a standing wave form inside the waveguide? what is the function of isolator and variable attenuator?
is about microwave frequency and SWR measurement experiment
To get standing wave you need to fit an integer number of wavelengths in waveguide.
A isolater for microwaves might be a directional coupler, this prevents power from being put backwards into it. It is essentially a diode. They have them for regular electrons, microwaves, and lasers.
A variable attenuator allows you to have and adjustable loss. This means that you can turn down the power after teh attenuator.
